Welcome to Cindy and David's 2015 Adventures
Cairns Botanical Gardens and Kuranda
It was lovely to catch up with our friends and caravan travelling colleagues, John and Margaret Britton and one of our outings was to the Botanic Gardens, a place in fact we had never been to. Of course we had to go there when half of it was closed for upgrading! It was still a lovely walk followed by an excellent lunch at the cafe!

Our first "selfie" and probably our last!
During our stay at Innisfail we joined a very large group in the evenings for drinks and a chat and met a lovely couple, Brian and Sue O'Donnell. Lucky for us they also moved on to Cairns and so we spent some quality time with them before they set off for home. It was a sad parting indeed.
Just up around the corner from the park is a power station next to a huge waterfall (Barron river) so we paid our usual visit to see how things are going.

A day out was planned to Mareeba and up through the mountains we stopped off at a lookout back over the northern suburbs of Cairns - the city is to the right, over that little hill.
We took a detour to have coffee in Kuranda arriving there just before the first train of tourists arrived!
In fact we did another detour before Kuranda to see the Barron Falls and at that station we caught the train passing under the bridge (the driver even waved!)
Left, it is sitting in the station letting passengers alight to photograph the falls and the gorge and the general surrounds. Quite lovely. We did a quick trip on to Kuranda to beat the train in time to get a coffee before the hordes!
