Welcome to Cindy and David's 2020 Adventures
4 Blackall to Longreach - June 2022
Longreach Stockmans Hall of Fame is one of the best museums we have visited. Wonderful stories of the development of the cattle industry in the 1870;s and people like Sidney Kidman, Nat Buchanan, R.M.Williams with special exhibits to celebrate Rev. John Flynn and the Royal Flying Doctors, The Sheep fleece industry and others.

The tree of knowledge was a heritage listed Ghost Gum until it was poisoned in 2006 by an unknown person. The tree was where the first Shearers strikers assembled and was instrumental in the formation of the Labor Party. The monument built above the tree consists of thousands of batons from 157 varieties of wood.
The "Tree of Knowledge" is symbolic in the Jewish faith where eating it's fruit represents the point where Good met Evil before which they existed separately.
We visited the site of the QANTAS museum. We baulked at the price of the entry fees and having been there before, heard the history and toured the planes, decided not to waste our money.
So I took these photos over the fence.
