Welcome to Cindy and David's 2016 Adventures
13 Chindera, Mike and Laura's, Hervey Bay etc.
We did a fair amount of driving on our first day as we had left little time to dawdle in order to arrive at Hervey Bay at the booked time so we found a rather nice little c/park on the Tweed river for the first night at Chindera (above and below left) in the Tweed Valley. We were able to stretch our legs on a lovely walk and then have drinks next to the river.
Next stop Glenwood near Gympie to spend time with Mike (David's brother) and his wife Laura. We timed it well as we spent one day at a Garden Festival in Nambour. It was a lovely day; a very well organised and busy event full of interesting stalls and good food!
And then to Hervey Bay. Our booked spot is by far the best in the park in terms of view and privacy with no-one on the one side and no-one behind or in front of us. Happy campers!
On the right is the aircraft in which David's sister Sandy and husband Ron arrived that same day also to savour the delights of Hervey Bay.
Sandy and David at Barrum Heads near to H/Bay. Lovely river mouth walk.
Sandy and Cindy walked the 800 metre long jetty at Hervey Bay.
No stay in Hervey Bay is complete without taking a whale watch cruise. We actually were there on the very first day of the season and were very lucky to see any! They are very curious creatures and spent some time looking around the boat working out who those funny looking people were who were getting so excited about seeing them!
After a few days we all drove down to Mike's and after a lovely get together and wonderful meal cooked by Laura, David and I drove back to Hervey Bay. However, a little later in the week we all met up again in Maryborough (left). Ron incidentally mostly chose to wait either on a local bench or in the car when we went for a stroll, being somewhat incapacitated by hip pain. Most unfortunate, poor guy.
