Welcome to Cindy and David's 2016 Adventures
Our last day saw us at the Minack Theatre down towards Land's End. The rain came down in torrents all the way and on arrival we were told we were early and that the theatre and cafe would be closed for over an hour. So our choice was to wait in the car watching the rain (and wind of course) or going back up the road to the pub. Guess what? In fact the weather was so appalling that we couldn't deal with the idea of sitting in that gale watching a play that we decided to have lunch and then go home. So into the first pub we came to. Ate a lovely meal, looked out the window and lo and behold, sky was blue, sun was out so off we trooped back to the theatre 5 minutes down the road (sorry, lane!) We enjoyed a lovely couple of hours with all those brave actors who apparently act in all weathers! Afterwards an Aussie bloke next to us chatted away and it turned out he and his wife were Sydneysiders and he was born and bred in Harrow (Pinner) etc,, etc. Life is certainly full of coincidences.
The day we left for London was sad indeed and of course a very long drive too. However, we arrived home, met up with Neil and went out to a favourite restaurant for our farewell meal.
Our trip home was long and horrible. Hong Kong is quite stunning from the air. It has grown a lot since our last visit and we spent some hours between flights in the city watching what a really crowded place is like! However, one of their most famous shopping areas was not crowded at all - the reason being it was all the fashion names of the world (you know, the no price tags sort! Posh Beckham, Stella McCartney etc.) Very posh indeed.
