Welcome to Cindy and David's 2018 Adventures
06 Burrum Heads and Pialba
This is part of the ride. Once we had navigated going through town (good bike paths though) then comes the obsolete railway line which has been replaced by a bike and walking track so we rode to the coffee shop at the end. Once again, dreaming!
The view of the bay from our caravan
Enzo's Coffee shop at Scarness, the suburb next to Pialba along their famous cycle way.
We were exploring one of the new suburban developments in town when we spotted these Kangaroos in the shelter of the wooden fence, a whole mob of them.
Burrum Heads is a tiny place a couple of miles down the road from Pialba at a magnificent river mouth - just right for throwing in a fishing line!
Talking of cycleways, the Manager of the Caravan Park advised us of a magnificent cycle ride he and his wife like to do - (they have electric bikes and now we know why!!! - lots of uphill......) However, we did it anyway and looked forward to the cafe at the end. Our manager friend did not know it closed on Sundays!! So our efforts went unrewarded but we had to admit it was a very lovely ride and we may try again during opening times.....
So the past few weeks in Hervey Bay have been very relaxing to say the least but we have tried to bestir ourselves occasionally to get out and about. We did not, however, go to the carnival next door during the school holidays! Lots of scary rides etc. Not for the faint hearted!
Whilst in Brisbane last for that one night, we missed another event in the location next door whereby the Queensland Maroons Rugby League team visited. We caught it on the news that night and the grounds were packed by fans keen to see and talk to their heroes!
