Welcome to Cindy and David's 2016 Adventures
What a lovely city! I think it must be the wide roads that did it for us after the horrors of Sydney. There are still traffic jams and far too many traffic lights, but overall driving around is bearable.
We actually used public transport quite a bit as it is free for us oldies in working hours. We pushed our luck once on the way home by getting on the bus at 1 minute to 3 and the driver grinned and said ok go for it!
We emerged from an exploratory walk through various little side alleys in the city full of interesting shops and cafes at the main railway station and continued on out on to the riverside to discover a brand new footbridge to take us to that hallowed of all buildings, The Adelaide Oval. Magnificent. All the buildings along the river at that point were very grand so together with all the many churches here and lovely buildings throughout the city it is a very pleasant place to be.
Talem Bend a town on a bend in the Murrumbidgee River
Beach from the walkway directly the outside the Caravan Park.
Swimming pool at the caravan park. It has been mostly empty since our arrival but now its Saturday in this photo and the world has arrived.
David heard that South Africa were playing a 2 day game against the South Australia Cricket Association team in Glenelg so we caught the tram and there we were for lunch and some R&R cricket watching.
