Welcome to Cindy and David's 2013 Adventures
Note 03 - Gloucester
Packed up and drove to Nabiac to take another look at the caravan that Cindy looked at when I was buying spares to fix a water leak in the Windsor. We asked Chad for a trade-in price and when he offered an acceptable price, took a short ride to Westpac in Forster and within minutes we were back in debt but the owners of a Majestic caravan which is entirely suitable for David and Queen Cindy. Her majesty is delighted with her bathroom, toilet, shower and large fridge.
Chad and his team set to work changing cable connections and the Bike rack and everything else they could do to make us happy new owners. They owned the caravan park behind the caravan sales yard and let us stay there free of charge for as long as we liked after he parked the new van next to the old one so we could move our worldly possessions from old to new. It was a very hot day and we toiled away royally (how else).
The beautifully green rolling hills of the Gloucester region of the New England Ranges. The scenery is wonderful.

We drove 10k south of Gloucester to the Faulkland road and up into the foothills of the Ranges on the way to the Barrington Tops. The road to Gloucester Tops is closed and being repaired so we could not go up there. The country side is beautiful, green paddocks and running streams with fords to cross them. Just a delight.
There was a playing field next to the caravan park and the wind was negligible so I was able to fly my micro cub till the battery ran out
View from the caravan park of the "Buckets" which gives the name to the local road "Buckets Way". The caravan park, by the way, is set on 22 acres next to the Gloucester river, quite beautiful but apparently they are expecting well over 1000 people to descend on them for the coming Easter weekend. Needless to say we will have moved on by then!

Walked to town to find the RTA. Followed the road sign up the hill as far as the medical centre where we asked a patient for directions. He told us that the RTA had moved to Church street (the Main Road in Town). It later became obvious WHY said gentleman was attending the medical centre as when we walked back and found the Tourist information we were told that the RTA WAS in the street up the hill. So we set off again, up the hill. (Please note the temperature that day was up in the 30's). What the helpful tourist info man did not tell us is that the RTA is right at the end of that street. We eventually found it and transferred ownership of the caravan to our names. Then we walked back to the caravan park and consumed the pies that we had bought for lunch.
In the afternoon we gave up the walking bit and took a drive to Kia Ora lookout. What a wonderful place high up where the communication tower is located to see for miles around. Once again, the stunning views of rolling green hills and valleys were just beautiful
